Hello Kpop Addicts?
It’s been a while since my last blog. Been out there jamming with friends and the least thing I do on the net is updating my nail art blog and spamming on Allkpop news.
Introducing another Kpop talented Rookie Girl Group, Glam! They’re making headlines too much for their comeback so when I checked them out, say, I was impressed. One of the girls breakdance on their debut MV “Party XXO”. This totally got me. The visuals and graphics are so amazing especally their blinged Glam name. They have powerful singing voice and rapping skills plus amazing dance moves. I see they can do big in the future.
Loen Entertainment’s introduction to Glam Girls
GLAM MUSIC refers to GLAM’s unique musical style in which they simultaneously offer vocal skills based on hip-hop as well as dance skills. GLAM is ready to show an unprecedented powerful performance with GLAM MUSIC that is free and full of energy combined with rap, song, and dance.
The members of GLAM were already hot in the k-pop scene before their debut with their spectacular career and dance skills. Lee Mi-So, who became known as Bang Shi-Hyuk’s mentee, captivated the hearts of people with a video clip of her singing in a rich soulful voice. The B-girl Zinni became popular for being the first girl group member to dance a head spin. Dahee was first made known with her voice in “Vocaloid” — a well-loved Japanese composition program. The members also include the leader Park Ji-Yeon, who is skilled in dance, song, and rap, and Trinity, who has a charming cat-like face. One should look forward to the energy released on stage by the 5 distinctive members of GLAM.

Glam’s Debut Live Performance
Wow, they can sing and dance! I was expecting maybe they’d lipsync like what most of the idols do during debut. Fantastic

After years of successfully promoting their music as a 9-member girl group, Girls Generation has finally followed the footsteps of their sunbaes, Super Junior. They now have a sub unit with 3 members comprising of Taeyon(leader), Tiffany and Seohyun(maknae). Three of the most members with powerful voices, but where is Jessica?. TaeTiSeo is named after the member’s first name syllable, TAEyon, TIffany, and SEOhyun. They all got powerful voices which is the asset of this group. Girls Generation is composed of Taeyon, Tiffany, Seohyun, Jessica, Sunny, Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, Yuri and Yoona. TaeTiSeo’s first single is “Twinkle”
S.M. Entertainment’s official press release regarding the group stated that the subunit’s intention was to “grab the attention of fans with all aspects of music, performance, and fashion styles. Also hinting at the possibility of future subunits containing other members, elaborating, “by changing the members of the unit according to the music and concept of each new subunit album.” – wikipedia
Personally I never thought that SM Entertainment would make a sub unit of Girls Generation. I mean, why do they have to when all of the members are obviously popular? They don’t need sub units. Other groups having sub units are Super Junior, After School, Rainbow, etc. I remember way back Tiffany’s comments on Suju’s having sub units compared to Girls Generation. She said Girls Generation are one and don’t need subgroups. lols. Click here if you wanna see it.TaeTiSeo “Twinkle English Subs MV

Fat Cat, B.A.P. and now, Nu est. My newest liked rookie boy group. Like I said, I don’t usually get excited for new boy/girl groups out there unless if they’re from YG Entertainment. When it comes to companies, I like YG Entertainment the most coz they treat their idols stars like a family and none of the idols has resigned from the groups unlike other companies (JYP, DSPmedia, & SME).
Why I love Nu’est? I love their song, it’s catchy and this time, it’s not about love. It signifies broken friendship. Kpop is sooo addicted on making all kinds of love songs; heartbreaks, goodbyes, have-a-secret-crush-on-you song, happy love songs, betrayal, etc. (the list goes on)
To elaborate more on what I mean, here’s an example on the current kpop songs:
*Ailee “Heaven” – Boyfriend she lost. (I think the guy died) She was able to move on with her life without him.
*F.T. Island “Severely” – Severe love to his girlfriend, even risking his life for her.
*2AM “I wonder If You Hurt Like Me” – the guy is heartbroken, hurting more than his ex-girlfriend
*Nine Muses “Ticket” – one way ticket to girl’s heart
*Miss A “Touch” – Touched by her love
*Dal Shabet “Hit U” – girl hates the guy and wants to hurt him like he hurt her
*BigBang “Blue” – blue love
Aside from idols having their comebacks, what thrills me most is the story of the song they’re going to sing. Which is why I love 2NE1, most of their songs implies girl power over guys! peace!
Nu’est got my attention when Kahi (afterschool) congratulated them on their debut. They are from 1993’s-1995’s, so young and so cute guys!
Check out Nu’est debut song “Face” and their debut live performances.

Hello Kpop Lovers!
I don’t get to watch Rated K on Sundays because it’s a family day and we’re usually out in the evening. Luckily, we didn’t go out that night so I was able to watch the show and I was gladly surprised that they’re featuring South Korea, it’s places, food,high-technology and artists. When they featured Kpop, I feel like belong to that country because I can totally relate in everything they say, all the Kpop group and events shown. I’d like to share this to everyone of you (not just Filipino kpop fans). There’s no site providing downloadables on local shows so I’m gonna translate everything Korina (host) said by seconds on the video. I’m gonna try my best so I hope you all like it ^_^
Rated K. A Magazine show broadcasted on ABS-CBN every Sunday. Features human interest stories and no-holds barred interviews with interesting personalities. Korina Sanchez once again showcases her specialty in news gathering and presentation as she goes to all places and spaces wherever there’s a story needs to be told. This hard-hitting broadcast journalist also sits down with various people from all walks of lives to hear their stories and views about anything under the sun. (source: Abs-cbn)

[So I’ll be basing the timeframe of my translations on the video above. ^_^ and only on the KPOP Part.]
@ 5:27 – Eventhough we don’t understand the lyrics, we’re still fond to the so-called “Korean Pop Music” or “K-pop”! When we came here in Korean, we tried to find out what’s really the charm of the hottest Kpop.
@ 5:53 – They are called K-pop stars in the field of music.
@ 6:00 – and they are Korean Superstars in dubbed Korean drama or also known as “Koreanovela” that got high ratings.
@ 6:15 – Youths are like acting insane screaming to their favorite Kpop stars that are now visiting often to hold a concert.
@ 6:28 – But do you know that their fame has reached not only Philippines but also around the world rt
@ 6:37 – In this book, “Korean Wave” tells the story of how they became famous starting from Philippines. They’re slowly becoming popular in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, China, Mongolia, and even in Iran, Australia, Latin America, Spain and Poland.
@ 7:05 – From Korea, it’s like they want to conquer the whole world.
@ 7:14 – Who wouldn’t know the song “Nobody” of Wonder Girls?
@ 7:22 – Meanwhile, a lot of Kpop groups in Korea are quickly getting their fame.
@ 7:30 – Just like the group, 4Minute which we were able to talk personally from their concert from other country.
@ 7:42 – 4minute: “Thank You!”, “We are 4minute!”
@7: 46 – Nam Jihyun: “I’m a bit surprised because it’s a new environment but in my experiences, I’ve learned a lot from these challenges”
@ 7:55 – Kim Hyuna: “I think, it’s a destiny that we’re grouped together. It’s not easy to form a group like this but everyone’s having fun because we’re like families”
@ 8:07 – Jiyoon: “The people from the Philippines are very warm, very sweet, friendly and we’ll do a lot of things if we can go back to the Philippines”.
@ 8:22 – Their fame has just started in the Philippines but 4Minute, all girl band here in Korea is one of the in demands and one of the popular.
@ 8:35 – Girl’s Generation is loved in Korea and after they gained the artist of the year in Korea a lot of times, they’re also now famous in Japan, Philippines and America. They also dreamed to be known in Europe.
@ 8:44 – And the group 2NE1
@ 9:04 – So do you know anyone from this group that looks familiar especially to the Filipinos?
@ 9:05 – You are not mistaken. She is now Dara or much known as Sandara Park.
@ 9 :18 – Here in Korea, Sandara Park is often taken as a product endorser in different brands. If you have noticed, Sandara’s face has changed a bit, she’s not anymore the baby we used to know in the Philippines. Now, she has became a women and is endorsing products for sophisticated women.
@ 9:40 – Sandara was first known as the winner of Star Circle Teen Quest
@ 9: 54 – This building in Gangnam, Seoul is often visited by Girl’s Generation and Super Junior during practice for their song and dance presentation for concerts.
@ 10:14 – In the Philippines, Super Junior is very famous, they just came from a concert in the Philippines but according to Koreans, they are not that active anymore that’s why newer groups surpassed their popularity.
@ 19:36 – Whoever we asked, the famous group of them all is 2PM.
@ 10:47 – Nickhun is known as the favorite member of the group here in Korea. When we asked them why, they answered because he’s the most handsome member of their group. Do you know that he’s a foreigner? He comes from Thailand.
@ 11:08 – From their number 1 song “Again and Again”, they garnered more awards from the music scene in Korea.
@ 11:23 – If there’s 2pm, there’s also 2am. In the philippines, 2am wowed the Filipino fans just like any other Kpop groups who visited the Philippines

Yay! I know this has been really late news but still I wanted to show everyone what Jay Park did while he was here in the Philippines. He performed “demon” during Showtime shown last September 30, 2010…
Jay Park is the former leader of 2Pm and he’s know before as Park Jaebum…^_^ (Used the name Jay Park when he went solo).

Like what the title says, it’s definitely a NO to GP Basic’s adult-like-dance-inspired-by-Justin-Beiber.
This is a protest!
What the hell is wrong with the company releasing babies singing Britney’s “I’m a Slave for you…”??
(technically, that’ not what the girls of GP Basic sang,..but it’s more like it) They debuted with their album and song “GAME”. this makes me wanto to laugh. They still have lot of things yet to learn, to experience and to enjoy not working their asses off trying to get an impression from the music industry of Korea, especially to fans. (They should probably play GAMES instead) At their young age, their body’s already abused, you know what i mean? sleepless nights practicing to sing wearing KILLER HEELS??. They’re not even 18! and the average age of their member is 15! HSh*t.
Ok, so here’s their debut music video with the song “game”.
so what can you say?
The song, it’s auto tune but still catchy… i prefer “marry had a little lambs”
Their choreography? WOAH! They’re dancing like adults!, they even have that chest popping moves! and Janey (around 11-13 yrs. old) doesn’t even have them yet. No mountains and forests. XD
oh yeah, well, here’s the good part. though they’re still young, i kinda like them still because maybe they didn’t undergo any surgery or something, but yeah maybe they did (or so i thought). Because of this group, my interests to SNSD just increased. I’m just glad they didn’t do this thing when they debuted, they had that school girl image while GP Basic’s having that adult-image.. pity.
FYI: it’s not only me whose against this group’s debut image. Here are some more comments I found over at youtube.
Okay, like the song, but I’m going to rant now.
GP Basic girls, please don’t chest pop. I had enough with 4minute Hyuna and 2NE1 Minzy, and they’re not even legal yet.
They’re cool, but don’t you think Janey seem out of place with colorful clothes?
And what’s with the auto tune?? Although I like that kind of sound, but this is too much, oy! They shouldn’t use it for the whole song!
I’m done ranting. You can thumb down this comment if you don’t like it.
Thumb me down if you don’t like my comment.
arent they too young? at least Hyunah looked mature. well maybe they need more experience then we’ll see them in a different angle
i like their voice (they could still improve) and the choreography…but the popping and the thrusting…i just don’t think so….is that even legal…. and did i just hear her say “who wanna get f***ed up?” at the very beginning?
they should concentrate more on their studies…
and they are too young that they even don’t have the charisma of girls….
overall,they are too young…
Well, i’m not really that all anti to this group, it’s just that they should try at LEAST to promote a song that fits their age. Be like Orange caramel, all that girly and cutey image.. That way, they’ll probably get more supporters than haters. Boa is also young like them when she debuted but she sported the image right for her age^_^
another article for this group… click to read
Yay!. I’m back on Kim Hyun Joong updates after his successful concert with B2ST. Kim Hyun Joong appeared in various shows on GMA and had a few interviews while he was in Manila. I’m thankful that Kim Hyun Joong & B2st came here in the Philippines. I’m just into SS501 right now, and i’m soo happy to hear their leader coming here although I won’t be able to see him. The first thing he said when he arrived was that he love the fresh scent of the place. lols. So cute of him to say that^_^
Below are the videos about Kim Hyun Joong:
[Eng Subbed] Kim Hyun Joong in Manila Showbiz Central – 20.06.2010
(ENG TRANS 06.18.10) SS501 LEADER KIM HYUN JOONG AT EAT BULAGA
Kim Hyun Joong & Beast Interview @ Star Talk TX [6/19/10]
K-pop Meets P-pop @ 24 Oras 062010
Now on my comments:
Among all the interviews he had, none of them said anything about him as playing one of the lead role in the famous drama “Boys Over Flowers”. In my opinion, he wouldn’t be that famous without that drama here, even though there are SS501 fans (Triple S). It’s just a sad fact that the hosts can’t say it live on air on how much the Filipinos loved his drama “Boys Over Flowers”. Even so, I hope they were able to tell Kim Hyun Joong about that off-cam. We are happy that another korean celebrity has visited the Philippines, so we are also looking forward not only to their interviews but also on how the hosts treated them. How the MC’s made them feel that they are really popular here in the Philippines. I just hate it when I hear them mentioning Kim Hyun Joong’s name in a disrespectul way (or so I think). They keep on calling him “Kim” which is his family name. And for me, it ain’t right. FYI, in Korea, saying the family name alone is very disrespectful, it should be the full name with Mr/Ms. or the Given name. It’s not only me who got annoyed by this fact, watch those vids on youtube and you’ll see a lot of fans hurt because of the hosts calling Kim Hyun Joong “Kim”. It’s not hard to pronounce “Hyun Joong” right?. For the Host’s mistake not to happen again, they should do a research and learn to respect. All of the interviews done by Kim Hyun Joong are from GMA by the way.
Just like ABS-CBN, when 4Minute performed in Wowowee, Mariel (the host of Wowowee), though having a hard time pronouncing their names did her best to say it in the right and respectful manner. So I say, GMA, do your research and learn from ABS-CBN
